Pigeon pose is my favourite yoga pose. I was excited to finally learn its mythology. You can find the article here. A few years ago I created a sequence that included different variations of pigeon or figure 4, which offers a similar stretch.
Pigeon pose stretches the hip rotators, hip flexors and possibly the back if you are folding forward. If you feel your hips are tight from seating for long periods of time try doing this pose a few times a day at your desk.
