I love using My Yoga Online to practice. It allows me to take yoga classes in the comfort of my own home. When I saw the preview for Andrea Marcum’s class entitled For Those Days When You Just Hit A Wall I expected it to an easy practice. I thought she was going to use the wall just for alignment purposes. Boy, was I wrong. This class challenged me in many different ways. Physically, it required a lot of stamina and ability to balance. Mentally, it required focus and a strong will not to give up. I really enjoyed the class because it was so different from what I am used to. The same sequence without the wall would have been a different experience.
Depending on how you use a wall during your yoga practice it can:
- Act a support in balancing or restorative poses
- Help with alignment
- Build strength and stamina
- Assist with arm balances
- Enable you to get a deeper stretch
